  1. BishopSDA

I wish it charged the phone it is plugged into as well

This is so easy to use. Seriously. Set up is very intuitive and quick to do. The unit itself is well made, and I love how small and unobtrusive it is. The listing is clear about compatibility, and my vehicle/phone are indeed compatible as stated.

I have had occasional moments of delay in response time, but not much and not enough to bother me. Connection is not an issue at all.

This is super useful, especially on long car trips. It pays for itself.

I have tried a different one and it was glitching and wasn’t compatible with all my vehicles . I tried this one on my new 2025 Grand Highlander and it worked perfectly!!
Super fast response and I can cast my phone onto the vehicle. Really recommend this one

  4. Nehemiah Howard

It does mirror your phone but does not stay connected also when playing YouTube doesn’t stay on zoom just keeps going back to small screen

  5. Eddie Lott

It don’t work with Android phones

  6. White Rice & Soy Sauce

I’ve been using the Ottocast Mirror Touch CarPlay Adapter in my 2017 Honda CR-V, and overall, I’m really impressed. Setup was simple—just follow the prompts—and once it was connected, I was able to mirror my iPhone 16 Pro directly onto my car’s infotainment screen. There’s no lag when switching or selecting apps, and I haven’t had any connection issues at all. It works smoothly and reliably.

The only downside is that you need to connect an extra cable to charge your phone while mirroring. Without it, the battery drains pretty fast. It’s a small inconvenience, but worth noting if you plan on using it for long drives.

Otherwise, this adapter does exactly what it promises and works great!

Using this with a Samsung S21U and 2019 F150, I’m finding it difficult to navigate from the car display. The Ottocast onscreen menu overlays/interferes with the Android OS three navigations buttons (i.e. Back, Home and Overview) while is landscape view. The wireless car play features are okay, but you’ll spend more time messing with the Mirror Cast raising a safety concern. Portrait view is really difficult to see clearly as the phone’s display has much better native resolution than the 7″ car display. Unless you’re parked, this unit is not recommended. I wasn’t able to test it on IOS due to not having an iPhone/iPAD that supports USB-C. I cannot determine if a female USB-C to Lightning male will work or not. I spent several hours testing it out. If you’re car display is the size of an iPAD or larger, this may be viable, but otherwise, you might want to consider another option.

Update — there were a few other road blocks that I encountered. One, from the Ottocast tested, the USB-C connection from the Ottocast does not pass a charge through to the phone, so if you don’t have a charging pad, you cannot charge the phone while using the Ottocast mirroring feature. There are also some audio sync delays in the 300ms to 400ms range. This is quite noticeable. Last, I was not able to successfully pair my phone to use the Android Auto / CarPlay feature. Initially, I was contacted by Ottocast within 48 hours asking for me to reply to address these concerns, which I did. If anything comes of a support resolution, I’ll be sure to update this review accordingly.

Update — Support contacted me again with a firmware update option. It didn’t help any of the problems listed. In addition, I was offered some compensation, which I kindly declined. Ottocast support seems fairly engaged in reaching out to their customers. Unfortunately, with all of the issues, it just isn’t practical and I’m returning it.
