   I held off on getting a PS4 for the longest time. However, back in March I was on IGN’s site at the exact time their article went live announcing this Batman themed PS4. It was love at first site!

   Just Like Jim Gordon proclaimed in Batman Begins, when laying eyes on the Batmobile, I thought to myself, “I’ve gotta get me one of those!”

   …And I did…and it’s beautiful!!!

   Granted I have yet to plug it in and turn it on, but damn it’s gorgeous! One thing I did notice however, is that it is more pewter in color rather than the silver you see in the images on the product page. I’m curious if this is the norm, or if some others have received a PS4 in a similar shade of silver?

   Update (07/14/15) :

   I’ve since plugged it in and it’s working great. I was a bit surprised to learn that it doesn’t come with a vertical stand of any kind. So, if you are planning to stand this up vertically, which works better for displaying the Batman styled faceplate, you’ll need to purchase a vertical stand separately. I purchased this one:

   The stand is worth it and holds my PS4 in place vertically, without fear of it tipping or falling over accidentally. Plus, the glowing blue LEDs on the fans are a nice touch and kinda fit the Batman theme.

   The only other issue I’ve experienced so far, is that my PS4 would exhibit a flickering image and static sound after coming out of rest mode. I’ve discovered via a Google search that this is do to Deep Color mode being enabled and I simply needed to disable it to fix the issue.

   In addition, I’m disappointed to find that this Limited Edition Batman (Arkham Knight) PS4 doesn’t come with a free Batman or Arkham Knight UI theme. Would have been really nice if it did. 🙁

   Aside from that, I’m very happy I waited to purchase a PS4 and was able to grab one of these. It was well worth the wait!

   I love it , it works great, looks great and has a unique feel and look to it.
   I do feel a bit ripped off because the tipping point for me was that it said ( and still says as of 7-21-2015 ) it comes with a mono WIRELESS headset. But it does not , it comes with the same mono WIRED headset all PS4s come with and SONY Is pretty direct in saying the headset is not wireless , so when a kit says wireless i expected it not to be just the cheap $2 earbud headset they give you for free with other PS4s

   I do not know that I can add any more enthusiasm to what other great reviewers have already written to bolster & boost your excitement for this limited edition version of Batman: Arkham Knight for the PS4, but the fact that Amazon is still sporadically listing it says everything! Yes, you know without question how gorgeous this is, as many have both verbalized it & visually aided our eyes to stretch them WIDE! like a cartoon character; yes you know about the additional content with Scarecrow, Harley Quinn and the extra skins for Batman and The Batmobile. And just like Batman and The Batmobile, the PS4 itself and the controller are built to mirror each other, as well.

   BUT!, has anyone mentioned that The Last of Us Remastered is included as a digital download, along with a 3-month subscription to Playstation Plus?! The description does not say anything about these scrumptious treats! Even without these additional benefits, this is the system to get your hands on! My original purchase was cancelled and when I was finally able to get it again, I thought I would end up in the unfortunate line of people who are paying $100 or more to get this. Yet my deep, everlasting groaning, moaning & sighs from within and without were detected by that beautiful woman named Amazon and I was rescued! “Oh, thank you, my Lady Amazon!” Honestly, I cannot say it is not worth paying a bit extra, I would have done it had it come down to it. But hopefully the number of people who are being led down this path will find Sony appropriately responding to supply and demand: they have a hit on their hands.

   For those of you who are heavily contemplating buying this from eBay, please make repetitive checks back here every single day because Amazon will add more that are backordered, but you have to move on it IMMEDIATELY!, as they are literally sopped up gravy on a biscuit in what seems like minutes! When I tell you I scoured the internet trying to buy this; from Best Buy to Craigslist to GameStop to ol’ Wallie World, I could only find eye-gauged, inflated prices on eBay that made me reach for the Excedrin and the Pepto. I was able to find a couple Best Buy stores who still had the systems on hand, but the trip would have been 2 hours plus, but thankfully, that is when Lady Amazon showed up with a SURPRISE! “For me?!”

   And should you get one here that Amazon lists as backordered, you still do not pay until their orders are in hand and being prepared for shipment. I called in to see how an item on backorder worked because I had no experience in the matter. The listing and the gentleman I spoke with said it would be about 7 days before orders could be filled, but mine actually went through the very next day! So be sure you have the money ready to go because the date will probably move up quicker than anticipated.

   Having said all that, the extra money is well justified simply based on appearance alone, without question, when compared to the base model PS4 for Batman: Arkham Knight. It has been such a struggle NOT! to watch the walkthroughs posted by the Absolute Master on YouTube, Batman Arkham Videos. This is not a plug for the gentleman, I do not know him. But I have to give props where props are due: every time he posts his videos, I can here Shang Tsung in the background, “Flawless Victory.” Watch, you’ll understand what I mean. He is simply inspiring.

   Yesterday was my first taste of the game when my PS4 arrived and I have decided I will master the game. I bought the Collector’s Edition Strategy Guide and I. Will. Be. The. Batman. When you play it, please; no, pretty please, take your time and breathe in and exhale slooooooooowly what Rocksteady has created. You will be awe-stricken, and to say it is magnificently crafted will still fail to start or finish what your senses will encounter. I have not played any games in months, building up the momentum to don my cape for this. But forget Batman, I played like BattedMan because I was getting mud holes stomped in my behind-I SUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKEEEEED! (That’s an echo, by the way.)

   A bit of humor, but I am not and was not disappointed nor discouraged.The Batmobile gameplay feels very different since I do not play car games, but it is just something to learn and get used to. Aiming proved to be a challenge, to apply the mechanics needed to get into a groove to aim, shoot then move, but it is clear that you can do it without making a mistake. And Batman’s fighting is more than button mashing: you have to be focused, knowledgeable of his move list, locked in to everyone and everything surrounding you. And with the muscle packed onto him, the baddies will need more than sheer number to overtake The Dark Knight……..yeah, right. Get ’em, Batman!

   Bam! Biff! Pow!

   Enjoy it, fellas, & love it with him, ladies.

   No diggity. No doubt.

   I’m glad I held off on getting a Playstation 4 to get this system. I’m a huge Batman fan and this edition was a must-have in my book. It was well worth the wait and the money. The system is well made and the game is awesome. I found myself using a lot of the entertainment apps, such as YouTube and Netflix. I can also operate both apps using my Android tablet, which is extremely helpful while searching for something to watch. I feel like a wasted money upgrading to a cable box in my room because now I use the PS4 much more. A small drawback in my opinion, is that the PS Store can be a bit slow from time to time.
   As for the game, the graphics are amazing and the gameplay is very fluid. The only gripe I have for the game is that the Batmobile is utilized a little too much. I also encountered a glitch during a Riddler race where the Batmobile went through the floor and I had to restart from a save point, this however was a minor inconvenience. The story is pretty good but if you know a little about the Batman franchise, it’s easy to guess who the Arkham Knight is.Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of Batman.
