The connectivity is automatic when turning on the car there is a little lag when listening to mucus but I don’t mind. Very easy to set up and very small that you can’t really notice it. It fit my 2019 GLA 250 & my Lexus NX300

Works flawlessly in 2022 Honda Pilot Elite if you introduce it as a new device along side with your existing iPhone configuration. *** BUT, Honda’s charging pad does NOT support Fast Charging phones, like an iPhone with the mag ring on the back. I never discovered this until I experimented with wireless CarPlay because previously it was not in the thought process to ever place my wire connected phone on the charging pad at the same time. So my workaround for charging is to use magnetic charging from a IQ high-powered USB-C cigarette lighter connected to a MagSafe magnet to charge my iPhone with my iPhone sitting in the tray under the console lid.

Set was a breeze took less than a minute so far no connectivity issues and it loads up within a few seconds after starting the car I have a 2022 civic sport. Very slight delay when switching through songs but nothing major I’d say like a second or 2 but sounds great audio is crisp/clear, Apple Maps works ect

Very easy and fast installation. Plugged it in, paired to my Pixel 9 phone and it connected. I have no need for the multi-device feature or Car Play connectivity so I can’t speak to how those work. After the initial setup the unit boots-up and connects without any fiddling. I have only had the unit for a couple of days but it has been stable so far. I bought this to replace the Motorola Sound MA1 which I purchased on Amazon a couple of years ago. The Motorola unit suddenly stopped working and I was unable to reset/reboot/repair it. Hopefully, the Ottocast will have a longer useful life.

If you have just one phone, it works perfect.
It”s not easy to connect to the USB port on my 2019 Forrester, but that is Subaru’s fault.
However it does NOT reliably switch between even two phones (say your and your wife’s, when you both are in the car.
It could it could not, it may hang the system or do smthng completely whacky.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:
Because it promised easy pushbutton switch between numerous phones.

Took a little while to install this device in my 2022 Lexus. As soon as the device showed up on my car’s screen, it asked me for a password. None was provided in the instructions, and there is no way to ask for help. Ultimately, I queried Apple CarPlay on my cell phone and a six digit code popped up immediately. That was exactly the missing link. Ever since, the Ottocast has been working seamlessly. My car defaults to it every time I start it. Very happy with the product.

This device works great, occasionally, when it connects and stays connected. But, many times it fails to connect or drops connection while in use. It’s impossible to trouble shoot: is it the device, is it my android phone, or is it my Honda infotainment system? Each blames the other. I’m going back to the cable connection which, so far has always worked. And, it keeps my phone charged.
