My eight year old son wanted a drone for his birthday and after purchasing one for a competitor which was a colossal failure, I had my doubts that anything at this price point would be effective. This Holy Stone HS175D was perfect as a replacement. The video is quite stable and my son can follow it along. It also has a beginner mode that limits it to 30m altitude and range and so that works really well for him. You can also change the speed which was great for a learner. He loves flying over the parks and the house taking photos and videos. Well worth the purchase.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

I have become pretty fond of this little drone. I wanted a middle of the bell curve drone at a reasonable price point and found it. I was not on the market for a disposable toy or an investment so large that flying it would be nerve racking. This drone has the features that I see as important for under $200 such as replaceable battery’s, brushless motors, GPS, POV, VR, and a serviceable picture taking ability. I will spare you reiterating the specs but I will say the motors are QUIET and I get the EXPECTED FLIGHT TIME out of them easily. It is VERY WELL MADE and has suffered allot of my mistakes including two hard hits into buildings. I wish the video gave me more FPS in FPV but its functional. The CAMERA is decent you wont win any art shows with it but the color is better then I expected . So far I cant tell what the EIS is doing, there is a bit of wobbling when its hovering but not allot of drift. When there is its usually something external. It is Pretty small and wind will effect it, you need too pick calm days. I would be more confident flying it if there was a PROP GUARD available for it. Actually that’s my biggest problem with it. I want it too be a little functional beyond fun flying and give me a look at some trouble areas higher up on my buildings. I’m not comfortable getting that close yet (about 3 feet ideally again Prop Guard). In optical flow mode it does very well hovering in fact often better then GPS mode in tight spaces. were I’m using it most. its not perfect though there is a bit of YOYO effect once I release the sticks it drifts about 3ft sometimes before it recenters itself. I’ve had a hard time letting it do this by itself without interfering. If it was less laggy in correcting its drift Id be thrilled, not to say its bad by any means keep in mind it’s in tight spaces when I use it. Some people have said its hard too set up and calibrate, which I will disagree with. if you follow the directions it is fine and only take a little time. I have no problem going through orientation even when I probably don’t need too. Others have said Vr doesn’t work. Again I’ll disagree it, does but you have too make sure your phones settings in WIFI are not mucked up. I cant say the VR experience was fantastic . but, again it has VR. All told I would BUY IT AGAIN. There are allot of reviewers out there with good things too say about it I dont go one the opinions of just one or two people. So if you don’t want too do extensive research or spend $400 to get the same features you can just BUY THIS drone. you won’t be making a mistake.

Ich hatte vorher eine andere Drohne. Die war aber Schrott. Die Holly ist für Einsteiger, ein Voller Gewinn. Sehr lange Flugzeit.(2 Akkus vorhanden pro Stück 30-40 min Ladezeit max 2h) Sehr Windstabil.
Rückkehrfunktion Verfolgungsmodus. Die Kamera perfekt. Für den Preis. Also, meine Kaufempfehlung absolut. Supergerät. Wer mehr will muß tief in die Tasche greifen

  5. Acamanny

Drone is easy to fly, out of the box, very stable and solid. I have never flown one drone in my life and this one gave me that experience. I am having a blast with it.

Having used the Holy Stone HS360 for over three months now, I can confidently say it’s a solid investment for drone enthusiasts and filmmakers alike. As my second drone, I’ve found its build quality to be exceptional, with brushless motors providing remarkable stability and a whisper-quiet flight experience.
One of the standout features of the HS360 is its GPS location system, which performs admirably, allowing for worry-free flights even over distances exceeding one kilometer. This reliability lends itself well to capturing expansive aerial shots with ease. Equipped with a 4K camera, the HS360 delivers impressive image quality within its price range. Whether I’m shooting real estate presentations or short cinematic clips, the footage consistently exceeds expectations, showcasing sharp details and vibrant colors.
I’mOverall, the Holy Stone HS360 has proven itself as a dependable workhorse in my aerial filming endeavors. Its stability, silent operation, and impressive camera quality make it a standout choice for enthusiasts and professionals looking to elevate their drone videography game. Highly recommended.

I am a novice at flying drones, but also an engineer who appreciates devices that are well built and offer a lot of functionality for little cost. I also enjoy photography and videography. This budget drone fills that very well. I had the HolyStone HS160Pro and while it was more like a toy, I quickly realized that I needed something a little higher end, but under $200. After realizing you can easily lose a drone without GPS, that was my first criteria while searching for the next drone. Sure, I wanted the DJI mini 2, but with a package price of $600, I did not want to take a chance and lose or crash it without having some experience with an adult drone. When compared to other sub $200 drones, this really stands out. By the way it is nearly identical to the MJX Bugs 7, but I liked Holy Stone support I received when I had the HS160Pro, so I decided to go with the HS510. I did some video shots that illustrate what you can do with it, and even though it does not have a gimbal for the camera you can do a few shots and edit them together. The video has no processing and is from the original raw footage off the SD card. I shot video in 2.7k (2540 x 1440), because I wanted the 30fps. Good things: Durable, small, good controller – i like having a display so I can more easily see when it loses signal and shows battery remaining. Even the DJI controller does not have a display. The Return to home (RTH) works really well, and it’s my safety net when I no longer can see it, or the Wi-Fi FPV loses signal. The software app Orphelia GO is quite good, and with the follow me, orbit, and way point features is quite cool. It also has a headless mode so if you get lost in orientation, this is great for beginners. The video and snapshots were very good, and can adapt pretty well to the different exposures. You can alter this with the App. The GPS RTH is amazingly accurate. It usually lands within 2 feet of where it took off. Range is dependent on how many WIFI signals are around you. Most of my testing there were houses within 1000 ft or less. Nevertheless, I could get out about 210M (700 feet) and up to 60M(200 feet) before losing FPV. I could go a bit farther with no FPV but did not push it. I put a small bright strobe on the rear so at least I can see it a bit better at farther distances. Bad things: No gimbal or Electronic stabilization. The battery life is good for 15 min max, but you get the low battery warning at about 11-13 minutes. So I am cautious and bring near home when it occurs, and just fly out until I get the 2nd warning and let it land. The battery charger although it holds 2 batteries, only charges one and then the other. So it takes about 4 hours to charge both to get about 25-30 minutes of flying time. It’s really a good idea to get 2 more batteries and a second charger if you want to go out for the day. The LED front lights are useless in daytime, so I can’t really see if they are on or blinking without trying to shade it. Despite the negatives, when compared to others at much higher price drones and even though it has a manually adjustable camera, it’s a great value.
** Update ** The distance that I can fly without losing a connection to the controller has greatly diminished from about 200M max to about 50-80M (< 150 ft) for some reason. Holy Stone has not given me an answer or what to do about it. It has nothing to do with the App settings, as it loses the signal on the app, except FPV video is still working, and I can sometimes control it even though the signal level show no bars. The updated Olphelia app x.x .73 still has issues and I can't seem to get the google map to load when I fly in Airplane mode Wifi On. I am concerned after reading a few reviews that it could possibly fly off, and if battery level is low, not sure if the controller or the drone has the intelligence to RTh when battery is low.

So far so good. There were some gps and calibration issue, but a quick look at the booklet solved my problems. It’s good to read the manual before first flight. I did not and I almost lost my new quadcopter. But luckily this drone automatically returns home upon any loss connection. GREAT GREAT GREAT this saved me from a flyaway.

I bought this drone to replace an older DJI for which the manufacturer had disabled, with Apple, the ability to get photo feed from drone to phone, and to avoid having to register the drone with government. The main purpose of having it was to document the development of a rural property in the Cariboo region of BC and construction of a new home. I have had it since October 2022.

There seemed to be an insurmountable hurdle in getting live view from the drone camera on my Android phone, but a phone call to Holly Stone did help in clearing that up. After not using it through the dead of winter I was able to figure out the tricks again this year, but still share somewhat the frustration that others have expressed, with the several steps required to get everything up and working. But I now always can get it all working, and so can others. I suspect that much of the problem in getting everything working is me, not the drone.

Picture quality and operational capability is excellent for the price, I have no hesitance in recommending this drone to others. It has similar capability to the DJI Phantom 3 it replaced, for a fraction of the price and no registration required. I’m not afraid of registering something for flight as I own an aircraft, but felt I should not have to register a small drone. Careless/malfeasant operators are to blame here.

The included photo of the house construction was taken this morning in typical close-to-noon summer wind conditions of the Cariboo, with gusts over 20 km/hr. I did have to get the drone above treetop level to gain any semblance of stability due to its light weight, but I felt it did an amazing job for the conditions. When this morning’s photo collection was complete, the return-to-home worked just fine; I pluck drones out of the air at eye level rather than having them drop onto potential prop-damaging ground beside the 2 for square piece of plywood it took off from. This drone reacts to being grabbed by hand just fine, shutting motors down within seconds of the interruption of vertical drop.

In all, a fine drone for the money, nothing so far has not worked. I always get my desired set of photos each time I use it, and on one battery. Compared to the weight, bulk and battery costs of the old DJI this is a great step forward in everything but wind stability, but even there I’m impressed for something weighing half a pound.
