   This is my third GMKtec mini-PC and this one is another strong performer. I purchased two different models before and have experience with their AMD units, but the K7 PLUS is my first GMKtec Intel mini-PC.

   Biggest Pros Out of the Box:

   – Solid and performant Intel Raptor Lake CPU in a small, lightweight package, with quiet operation under normal use.
   – Windows 11 Pro pre-installed with NO bloatware (a pleasant rarity among system builders these days).
   – 32GB of DDR5 running at 4800 Mhz – as advertised without having to change this in BIOS.
   – 2TB NVME (Mine had the Lexar NM620 installed, though YMMV).
   – GMKtec support is great. No issues with the K7 PLUS. When I had a manual BIOS update issue with one of my other GMKtec units in the past they were helpful, friendly, quick (though you may have to wait for a support email response on Shenzhen, China time), and delivered a hardware replacement exactly as promised.

   Chassis is plastic, not aluminum. It has a premium design and look, lots of ventilation, and the choice of plastic keeps costs down. Even under heavy loads, the processor remains relatively cool thanks to the well designed cooling system. The fan only kicks in during the most demanding tasks, and even then, it can be noticeable but not overly loud.

   I’ve used this driving both 4k and 2k 120hz displays and it is very smooth. I also have the setup in a portable/travel mode. Connecting a 1080p portable monitor on the road or to external displays, a hotel TV, or projectors while traveling is a great way to use this too. It also makes for a great home theater PC – I am really enjoying it so far!

   – VESA mount (for mounting the PC to the back of a monitor)
   – HDMI cable

   I may keep this as a mini-PC for travel, use it in as a home theater PC, or move it into my HomeLab and configure it for serving media or running Home Assistant and other virtual machines. If you’re looking for any of the above this is definitely more than capable and I can certainly recommend it!

   GMKtec NucBox K7 Plus: A Mini Powerhouse That Surprised Me
   When I first picked up the GMKtec NucBox K7 Plus, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s so small that I wondered if it could really handle the workload I had in mind. But after spending some time with it, I can confidently say that this little box is a beast in disguise.
   Setting up the NucBox K7 Plus was a breeze. It comes pre-loaded with Windows 11 Pro, which is fantastic because there’s no bloatware slowing things down right out of the gate. After a few updates, I was up and running in no time. The first thing I noticed was how fast it boots up—around 10 seconds, give or take. It’s a small detail, but I love not having to wait around for my PC to wake up.
   The 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13620H processor is the heart of this machine, and let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint. With speeds of up to 4.9 GHz, this mini-PC handled everything I threw at it without breaking a sweat. Whether I was running multiple virtual machines, editing videos, or streaming content, the NucBox K7 Plus performed flawlessly. The integrated Intel UHD graphics did a solid job with everyday tasks, and even some casual gaming, though I wouldn’t push it for anything too graphics-intensive.
   What really impressed me was the speed of the NVMe SSD. I’ve got a 2TB SSD in mine, and it’s insanely fast. We’re talking transfer speeds around 3,500 MB/s. If you’re like me and hate waiting for files to transfer, this makes a world of difference. The dual M.2 slots mean I can easily add more storage later on, which is a nice touch for future-proofing.
   As someone who does a lot of video work, the performance of this mini-PC has been a huge help. It handles heavy editing tasks smoothly, and the QuickSync technology in the processor speeds up video encoding noticeably.
   I was initially concerned about how this tiny box would manage heat, especially since I often push my systems hard. But the cooling system in the NucBox K7 Plus is efficient and, most importantly, quiet. Even under heavy loads, the fan noise is barely noticeable. The device stays cool, too—I’ve seen temps hover around 56°C during extended use, which is impressive.
   One thing I really appreciate is the variety of ports on this thing. With two HDMI ports, multiple USB options, and a USB-C that supports DisplayPort, I’ve been able to connect all my peripherals and dual monitors without needing any additional adapters. Plus, the Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 combo has been rock solid, making wireless connections fast and reliable.
   I’m someone who likes to squeeze every bit of life out of my gadgets, so the upgradability of the NucBox K7 Plus was a big selling point for me. With 32GB of DDR5 RAM already installed and the option to expand up to 64GB, this mini-PC isn’t going to be obsolete anytime soon. The ability to add more storage with the dual NVMe slots means I can easily scale up as my needs grow.
   Portability: A Minor Drawback
   One downside I’ve noticed is the power supply. While the NucBox K7 Plus itself is compact and light, the power supply is somewhat heavy. This makes it a bit less convenient if you’re planning to move it around frequently or use it as a portable solution. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something to consider if portability is a priority for you.
   In the end, the GMKtec NucBox K7 Plus exceeded my expectations. It’s powerful, quiet, and future-proof—all while taking up almost no space on my desk. Sure, it’s not going to replace a high-end gaming rig, but for anyone who needs a reliable, high-performance mini-PC for multitasking, content creation, or just everyday use, this little box delivers in spades.
   If you’re looking for something that combines performance, compact design, and ease of use, I highly recommend giving the NucBox K7 Plus a try. It might be small, but it packs a serious punch.
