These are my first IEMs, and frankly, I’m kicking myself for not making the plunge sooner! These are some of my favorite things about the Variations:
Balanced sound that, so far, doesn’t come off as shouty or overly bassy.
They’re quite comfortable for extended sessions.
The design is eye catching, without being over the top.
While the provided case isn’t of the highest quality, I have no doubt that it’ll protect my Variations for a long time to come.

I brought my Variations because they seems to be underrated kings of many reviews. Now that I received them they are okay. The wire running around my ears hurts, so I do not spend a considerable amount of time listening as I would like to. Also, the wire cable seems cheap. The cable could have been a lot more expensive/ custom made. I have lesser cost IEM’s with better cabling and fitment.

For my ears, the best IEM I have listened with. Great bass, tonal quality, and superb separation. Everything seems rich and powerful. I did make one change–I use the Spinfit CP 145 eartips. The fit is excellent (compared to in box tips) and has elevated the listening experience.

I’ve had a set of Moondrop Starfields (NOT the Starfield II) for a little over a year and like them very much. So, I thought I’d try out the Variations for a comparison.
The Variations are a little more refined and smoother than the Starfields, but not a lot different. They both have a lot of punch, with the Starfields having a bit more low end punch. The Variations bass is wider and more even distributed. They also have a smoother high end without being obnoxious.
My left ear has a hard time fitting IIEMs and the stock Moondrop tips don’t fit well. But I recently discovered SpinFit tips that do fit it well. I highly recommend them.
I live just a bit south of the headphones.com headquarters in Oregon so the shipped IEMs arrived in less than 24 hours. Nice Job!
