  1. SIMPLE.CLEAN.

These portable solar panels are great value. The kit includes wires to connect to any solar power station. There is a 10 ft Anderson extension cable included. You then connect the Anderson cable into a 4-in-1 cable that has XT60/DC5521/Anderson/DC7909 connectors that you can connect directly to your solar generator EcoFlow,Anchor,Jackery,Bluetti etc. It also includes a charge controller and wiring to connect the solar panels to a battery and load. We used this setup to connect the solar panels to our campervan. These portable solar panels work great for us because we can park our van in the shade and place the solar panels in full sun. The solar panels have metal kickstands attached to the back that hold them at the correct angle towards the sun. The panels easily fold up and go into a very nice padded storage bag that has a zipper pocket on the side to hold the extension cables. Nanwind Solar really thought about the little things like the velcro that holds the two panels together so they don’t rub during transit. This is a really nice high quality solar panel kit that I highly recommend.

This portable solar panel kit is a great solution for off-grid power needs. The 200W output and 23.5% efficiency make it effective for charging batteries and running small devices. It’s lightweight, foldable, and easy to carry, which is perfect for camping or RV trips. The IP68 waterproof rating gives peace of mind in bad weather, and the included 20A PWM controller is a useful addition. Setup is straightforward, though the panel could use longer cables for more flexible placement. Overall, a reliable and efficient kit for portable solar power.

The folding panels are OK – they’re kind of heavy, but some effort has clearly been made to lighten them. They fold so the glass is facing out. I think it would have been better to fold the glass sides together and have some protection on the outside. The stand holds them up fine, though I would not leave them set up in the wind.

A cool feature they included is a cable which converts from Anderson connectors to XT60 and a couple different DC barrel jacks – this makes the panel kit compatible with a wide variety of portable power stations, and a better value than if it could only connect to its own charge controller.

The charge controller is cheap and junky. The ground legs are switched, which is a less safe architecture, but cheaper to manufacture – no different than other cheap charge controllers. I would not use it except maybe in an emergency.

This review is for a NanWind Solar 200W Portable Solar Panel Kit.
My first impression was that this is a heavy piece of kit. This weighs approx. 20lbs, so it takes some planning to move it. That weight does work for you when it is unfolded. It will take a good breeze to move it.
I put this outside on a 68*F day with full sun In SouthCentral Missouri, USA, and the output was 178W @ 21.11 v. on my PV multimeter. I was impressed with the output.
The one thing that is NOT appreciated is the Anderson Power Pole output. Why does this not have an MC4 output connector? For PC panels of this size, the “usual” termination is an MC4. I know this is “portable,” not for permanent installation, but if you are playing with panels of this size, the usual connection is MC4. This will necessitate purchasing or making a MC4 to APP adapter cable to store and lug around. As a HAM radio operator, most of my radio power connections are APPs. I have the adapters. The average person probably does not. IF NanWind is adamant about using APPs, at least throw in an MC4/APP adapter in the kit.
There are some very nice adapter cables included in the kit, and they appear well made and sturdy. Take a look at the Amazon listing for details. The most useful cable will probably be the one with an APP on one end and a 4-way termination on the other. This gives you lots of output options. I have not tried the PWM controller yet. It will be a nice backup to the MPPT controllers I already use.
Because of the large surface area, it is strongly recommended that you make up some kind of brace or a stake for the wire stand, or attach this to a frame if there is going to be a wind in excess or about 20mph.
I really like this PV panel after the short time I’ve had it. If you are looking for a high output PV panel, this might fit your needs.

If you need a portable 200 watt solar panel this might not be a bad idea if you know beforehand that it does not come with mc4 connectors. It comes with Anderson plugs that have a four-way adapter to XT 60 and a couple of barrel plugs. I didn’t have much luck with the pwm charge controller it was very hard to understand and even harder to program. It does come with a nice set of alligator clips in Anderson to Anderson extension cord giving you flexibility. It comes with a nice padded zip up carry case to carry the folded panels. The build quality seems good but time will tell on the longevity. The highest output I could get out of 200 watt panels was in the high 150s. That was in full sun at around 1:30 in the afternoon in Michigan so in all it’s not that bad. I do like how portable it is and how light it is, I don’t like that there’s no mc4 connectors and I don’t care for the pwm controller that comes with it.
